People often damage gate frames by accidentally backing into closing gates. In such cases, we replace the gate and have it covered by insurance. This process involves delivering the gate to our workshop, cutting out the bent parts, welding new straight rails, preparing it for powder coating, powder coating it, and reinstalling it.
However, sometimes people ask us to temporarily fix the gate to keep their children and pets inside. Today, a car badly bent a 4-meter long gate with louvre panels. Despite the damage, the customer requested that we attempt to repair bent louvre gate, straighten it.
To begin the repair process, I unscrewed the bent piece of the rack. Then, I placed the gate on the ground, using wood to prevent scratches.
Next, I used a wooden rail to straighten the gate, driving over it gently. It’s important to proceed with caution and check if the gate is still okay. Heavy cars can squish or bend the frame too much.
After straightening the gate, I reinstalled it, installing a new rack and making necessary adjustments.
